The fairytale of Jack and the Beanstalk is one of many children's favourites as it has all the elements that make up an epic tale namely an unlikely hero, a princess that needs rescuing and some nasty monsters that get in his way.
Director, Bryan Singer, also noticed the epic potential of it too and so Jack the Giant Slayer came into being.
