Although we think her true calling is to present Top Billing, Jeannie D finally got to live out her other fantasy of appearing as a soap star on SABC 2's soapie 7de Laan - and playing herself no less! We follow Jeannie behind-the-scenes from morning rehearsals and dialogue coaching to hair and make up - it's all in a days work at the busy Lonehill studios. Along the way she chats to stars such as fabulous Diaan Lawrenson (Paula), Caroline Jacobs (Zinzi) and Jo Da Silva, who delights in playing the show's 'super-bitch' Gita. The scene in which Jeannie D appears is a big cocktail launch function hosted by Gita. It is pivotal to the storyline and creates some awkward moments for many of the characters and all the more challenge for Jeanie D to deliver her lines with as much conviction as possible.
