When a bride scores a wedding dress for less than the cost of a Sunday lunch, cuts bougainvillea branches for her bouquet on the way to the ceremony and gets showered with confetti whilst on the back of a rickshaw, you know this is a different kind of wedding!
With their reputation for doing things differently, Pam De Menezes, lead singer of The Arrows, and her drummer/bridesmaid Christie Desfontaine, gave the definition of 'Durban-style' a new twist with this funky and fun wedding.
Music celebs attending realised this was a wedding with an unpretentious, relaxed vibe that was simply irresistible. Marrying a man who started as a sound engineer for the band, Pam added bunny chows to the menu and together with her new husband decided that a first dance was not their style ... and a 'first song' would be more appropriate. Tune in to catch it all!
