We are invited to a wedding like no other with Durban bride Misha Walker and her yacht racing husband to be, Michael Pammenter.
Michael started sailing at 13, was the youngest crewman in the Volvo Ocean Race and on the family yacht he looks born to it. A top medical sales rep, Misha spends a little more time on land.
Michael spent five years sailing before joining his first fully professional team. He had the patience to wait for the right woman too. The groom’s brother Shaun is a navigator on high-end, luxury yachts.
To Misha’s bridesmaids, it was a given that she’d be a knock out whatever she wore. As it happens, she did find a showstopper in tiered Italian lace. The picture of a princess, Misha is as unaffected as they come and spends her day getting ARVs to areas where they are most needed.
For a dashing yachtsman, the groom is very grounded too. Since an injury has been keeping him from racing, Mike’s BComm in finance and economics has seen him establish a thirty hectare export protea farm and set up another successful business. As a couple they are starstruck whilst remaining very real. They wanted that fairy tale look and got it in the signature M and M they’re known by, with soft pinks, creams and grey flowers to match their colour scheme.
For a couple who’ve been together just 12 months, they seem to know each other extremely well and laughs are never in short supply.
