An unforgettable party with Gavin Rajah
Creatives are so often talented in many fields besides their own and designer Gavin Rajah was also born to fashion the most extraordinary events.
When his niece announced she’d be studying abroad it was just the invitation Gavin needed to throw an unforgettable farewell. With Sarina’s face printed in vinyl on the flower vases, Gavin was going the whole nine yards.
He’d imported flowers from Holland, Kenya, Columbia and in short, done just the sort of thing that won him this year’s International Event Company of the Year in the US. A rose print Gavin found whilst working on his Spring/Summer range made a dream formal setting.
Central to his niece’s Indian heritage is the food of the sub-continent and nobody does that better than arguably Cape Town’s best known curry house, managed by Oliver Wing.
Friends know the guest of honour as the strong headed, straight A’s student whose seven matric distinctions are a mark of her focus – but who never forgets to celebrate life. One gets the impression that there will be many more significant milestones to mark in Sarina’s life and no doubt, her uncle will always be there to make the most of them.
