Top Billing meets super-brain and former Mr. SA, Andrew Govender, who stars in the new film Free State.
The award-winning film Free State has been screened at festivals from India to Los Angeles and we caught up with Andrew Govender at the SA premiere.
The plot for the movie revolves around an interracial couple during apartheid.
Andrew is a qualified actuarial analyst who dared to pursue a career in the movies. On a getaway to Askari Lodge in the Magaliesburg, Andrew discussed his family’s view that education is everything, but with an honours in Actuarial Science, he’s more than done his bit.
After six matric distinctions and his honours degree, Andrew can walk into a top financial services job. Instead, he followed his dreams and he already seems vindicated.
From here it’s more film festivals in North America and we await news of Andrew’s next big role.
