With the Cricket World Cup, our shows run at 8pm on Thursdays on SABC3 for the month of March. Fittingly to the celebration of all that’s ‘cricket’, Simba gets to visit cricket legend Fanie de Villiers – a tireless hero who became the premier South African fast bowler of the post-apartheid era.
From the tennis court, to the rugby field and cricket nets, Fanie has surrounded himself and his family with what he loves. Fanie insists, much to Simba’s surprise, that he must pass a test that all Fanie's guests must undergo, before they are offered their first drink. The test is to kick a rugby ball over the posts in his garden. Simba really didn't think he would be getting a rugby lesson from the cricket icon, but this was just starters. Having finally got a ball over the posts, Fanie welcomes us into his home, reminisces over some of his career highlights and shows us how to prepare his favorite dish, Fanie style chicken corma.
