Bonang Matheba invites Top Billing into her new home
You’ve seen glimpses of Bonang’s new pad and this week on Top Billing she gives us a grand personal tour her seductive, black meets white masterpiece of designer living!
Four years ago, Simba glimpsed Bonang’s last sanctuary. A place she recharged in her rare hours out of the public gaze. Now, she has changed address to a serene country estate.
Searching for a new look, the woman who’s been crowned Style Icon of the Year found the ideal fit in the interior design of Jessica Hofmeyr and architecture of Joanne Reynolds.
The stairs fittingly tell the story of Bonang’s ascent from her presenting debut as a fifteen year-old to the peak of the industry. Images of Bonang may be central to her business but otherwise, these interiors are designed to help her tune out from the media noise and just be herself.
Most importantly the décor is not busy. Whether sitting at the dining room table or curling up next to the fireplace, the effect is one of slipping into uncomplicated, sheer comfort.
With much of her week spent away from home, when B gets to have the girls over, she’s made sure they can talk into the early hours and there’s plenty of room to stay over.
A meticulously curated image is central to B’s work, from Season Two of her show Being Bonang to presenting Miss South Africa, and here in her glam room where those looks are born.
To young, aspiring designers, presenters, authors, business people, bloggers, influencers – you don’t have to achieve everything Bonang has but if her example helps you make your break through – know that it brings a smile to her face.
