At first sight, Rolene's Miss World winning gown was different. The timeless quality is a Casper Bosman signature and it was again on show in the dress Rolene Strauss wore on her wedding day. Both this soon to be medical doctor and distinctive designer have shone a light on their hometown as a hub of excellence and talent.

After studying dance, drama and then design, Casper worked in retail from London to Paris. One day he realised he was losing touch with his family and decided to return home, where ten years ago, he launched his label.

This is a designer who prefers to let his work do the talking rather than being a high profile celebrity himself. That said a glance at his Instagram page reveals a who’s who of stars wearing Bosman originals.

This hero of the Free State fashion industry wants to dress the average girl next door, and make local brides look like princesses.

Another effect of this fashion dynamo basing himself in the City of Roses is his impact on young careers like that of Chané Hussellmann, a sixteen year old still at high school, who has modelled in France for Dolce&Gabbana, Alexander Mcqueen, Chanel, Versace, & Valentino!
