Clayton Blommetjies weds his hometown sweetheart Yanasha Johnson

Cheetahs Rugby fullback Clayton Blommetjies weds his hometown sweetheart Yanasha Johnson and we bring you all the magic moments from their special day! 

Clayton Blommetjie’s rugby takes him to Italy, Scotland, Wales and Ireland on a regular basis while Yanasha studies Financial Management. They got engaged while watching a Sunday movie at home and their bond remains stronger than ever.

The Boland is where Clayton played his earliest rugby and holding their wedding there was a way to support local professionals such as, Grant Johnson. A chocolate, carrot and red velvet cake by Jenny from Emmas Cakes satisfied the couple’s extra sweet tooth and the groom couldn’t wait for his big day. Clayton’s suit matched the colour scheme, and being a natural at management, Yanasha had taken care of everything else. The bride immediately fell for this dress, perfectly shaped by designer, Hershall Davids.

It was a turnaround for Yanasha’s parents who were initially concerned that with so much rugby in Clayton’s life, he wouldn’t be able to focus on their daughter. But he won his in-laws over and they now have a gorgeous granddaughter in young Claynesha – who led the bride and groom to the altar. Friends sang the newlyweds in and father of the bride, Lincoln Johnson had some wise words. The couple remain true to their roots, community and to long-time friends like Clayton Fortuin.

Among the guests cheering the couple on were Springboks Francois Venter, Courtnall Skosaan and best man Sergeal Petersen. It was the wedding all their friends wanted to see. After the groom was done dropping rhymes, the newlyweds began preparations for the bride’s long dreamed of honeymoon - in Paris.
