Waste NOT Want NOT How to make an elegant, French-inspired side table.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- A planter of your choice – we recommend du Jardin
- A large wooden French bread board – we prefer Trudeau boards R550 available from Tapenade in Cresta 011-478-5378
- Earthcote Iron Paint Primer, or any suitable primer dependent on the surface material R106 for 1 litre
- Earthcote Iron Paint R456, which includes rusting agent
- For more advice call Earthcote Lifestyle Garden Centre 011-791-6863
STEP 1 Scrub down the planter and let it dry. If you are using an iron planter you will need to fi rst apply an iron primer. In the case of a terracotta planter, fi rst use a cement primer. Leave the planter to dry for 15 to 20 minutes.
STEP 2 Apply Earthcote Iron Paint Primer and immediately follow it with Earthcote Rusting Agent. DO NOT LET THE PRIMER DRY. You should see the reaction take place within 30 minutes.
STEP 3 Place the wooden bread board on top. If the planter has indentations then you may want to cut the board to mirror the profile.
