Donald Nxumalo returns to Win A Home

Opportunity is just a word until somebody shows you what they can do with it. Designer Donald Nxumalo seized his chance on SABC3’s Win A Home competition and in no time, he has become a benchmark by which others measure themselves.

In 2012, this interior design student had to start a business to fund his studies. What he needed was exposure and investment in his talent and that is what he won. 

At twenty nine, this South African success story has recently released his second fabric collection, completing a design on a boutique hotel in Uganda and his drive and example have become the heart and soul of this year’s competition.

This years’ #WinAHome design contestants are made up of three groups of two which include, fashion design graduates Brad Muttitt and Abiah Mahlase who founded a clothing brand together and have flair to burn. Their competitors are formidable, Banele Khoza combines his fine arts background with Tshepo Sealetsa’s feel for interiors, fashion and photography. The third team are a potent mix of Mpho Mphaga’s passion for furniture design and Lesego Masekela’s background in interiors and real estate.

Joining Donald on what has proven to be a very supportive judging panel is Plascon Brand Manager Katlego Kondlo.
Hosted by SABC3 on Afternoon Express, #WinAHome is an education in practical design, trends in interiors, DIY solutions and always drama.
