Have you ever dreamt of walking down the aisle in a haute couture design? Designer Gert-Johan Coetzee is about to unveil his latest bridal collection and we got an exclusive behind the scenes look at a very special photo shoot.
He’s a designer who’s always thought it a shame to waste a showstopper dress on an insignificant event and with this collection, every gown will be worn on ‘the’ biggest dress-day in a woman’s life. So, he’s daring brides to step forward just a little more boldly.
Shot in a not so ordinary studio, Bonang joins Gert as he prepares to shoot his latest offering to fashion in a construction site. He has created a beautiful collection of gowns glowing with glamour, but decided to shoot them in a setting that is deconstructed and completely different, which highlights the gown's femininity and boldness. As this is his first bridal collection, we find out what made him decide to make the move to bridal wear, and we also get the scoop on his approach to the collection.
We also chat to photographer Marwelene van der Merwe on what makes this particular photo shoot so special, and her vision to shoot the collection in an unpredictable way.
