Charcoal bread, river toffee and horse-radish apple juice… Francesca Sarti’s food sounds outlandish, looks otherworldly but tastes heavenly.
Food is the ultimate ice-breaker and that’s why Francesca was here to help launch a new range of designer kitchen counter tops.
She graduated in the city of Florence, famed for its art and architecture. But she had other fascinations. How design could shape food and how food could tell stories. This would be no ordinary career.
She’s helped pasta companies, bed manufacturers and fashion brands make their message more appetizing. Among Francesca’s other inventions is water fermented with flowers or seeds – similar to beer or cider.
Creations like this see Francesca commissioned to do projects and lecture from London to Milan and Tokyo. After breathing, eating and drinking are the most important functions in our lives. We may as well make an art of them.
