Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on Top Billing
Top Billing takes to the stage with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
As a star of pantomime and musicals, our very own Chris Japhta joins the crew of Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Chris will take to the stage at any chance he gets and with Jonathan Roxmouth, Earl Gregory and Bianca Le Grange as the leads – this was Chris’ chance. Based on the biblical story of Joseph and his "coat of many colors", this was the first Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical performed publicly.
The new production at Joburg’s Montecasino Theatre sees Earl Gregory reprise the role that launched his career. While Joseph’s coat is the title costume, Wardrobe Mistress Sue Daniels showed us that Pharaoh was not to be outshone. The show has little spoken dialogue and is almost completely sung-through, much to Bianca Le Grange’s liking. The production features unique wirework and beading by artist Jabulani Ndlovu.
Joseph runs until 7 August 2016 at MonteCasino and moves to the Theatre on the Bay in Cape Town on 12 August 2016.
