Leanne Manas trains to conquer Kilimanjaro
While we often say ‘I’ve got to trek across town’, climbing Kilimanjaro is a real trek. But in the name of Madiba and for young girls in need, Leanne Manas and her husband Marc Menelaou are going to climb that mountain.
After almost 16 years in the live television business, Leanne is about to reach the highest point in her life, on the top of Kilimanjaro. Leanne will be joining other local celebs in the Trek4Mandela Challenge in July to raise funds for underprivileged teenage girls.
This week, Roxy joins Leanne as she trains for her big trek, and we also get to know her family a bit better. The symbolism of Leanne climbing Kilimanjaro is unmistakable - given a hand up in life, a child can do anything.
