Melinda Bam shares how she transformed from slim to strong

One woman born to rock any outfit - especially in Summer – is Melinda Bam. It’s hard to hold her zero percent body fat against her when she’s such a cool human being.

Before catching her flight to The Maldives to be part of Tropika Island of Treasure Season 8, Melinda spent three months, training six-days-a-week to hone her slender physique into the functionally fit, powerful and toned body of a competitive athlete.

To find out exactly what Melinda’s training regime entailed we joined her at the gym where she demonstrated plyometrics - a form of exercise that involves rapid and repeated stretching and contracting of muscles, designed to increase strength.

Her advice to avoid stiffness is to warm down at the end of your session.

While training like this Melinda ensures she’s never hungry, eating six small meals a day like some butternut and chicken and snacking on nuts and biltong.
