When high-school students in Soweto started protesting for better education on 16 June 1976, police responded with teargas and live bullets. It is commemorated on June 16th by a South African national holiday, Youth Day, which honors all the young people who lost their lives in the struggle against Apartheid and Bantu Education.
In remembrance of this day, we interview 6 successful South Africans born in the year 1976. We find out how, 35 years later, Youth Day is still remembered and important to them and how being born in that year has impacted their lives and their success. Join us as we chat to Kabelo Mabalane (a.k.a. Bouga Luv), Colin Moss, Leigh Bennie, Joey Rasdien, Gerhard Steyn and Rob van Vuuren.
