Beauty tip smokey eyes

Colour Smoke

The Smokey eye has been a hot trend for many seasons and with its ability to adapt it doesn’t seem like it will be going anywhere soon. With loads of different techniques on how to apply this look I have created my own personal favourite technique which I would love to share with you. I wear this look when I’m going out somewhere more casual as it is a much softer Smokey eye that I still believe captures the sexiness and sultriness we all desire from this trend. My technique is based on what colour suits your eye colour in order to make your eyes come alive and “pop” .It is a simpler and faster application that can also been also be worn in the day. The first step is to look at my eye colour guide below and according to the colour of your eyes pair it up with the colour suggested.

You will need:
Powder eye shadow in the directed colour, black liquid eyeliner, black pencil eyeliner, smudging brush, neutral eye shadow, shimmering highlighter and mascara.

Blue eyes:  violet, purple or dark blue

Green or hazel eyes: deep khaki, dark green, purple or plum

Brown eyes: copper, coffee and brown

Step 1:

Take your neutral shade and cover the entire eye lid with it either using a brush or your finger.

Step 2:

Take your smudging brush and dab it into your colour eye shadow and line the entire outline of the eye including underneath (follow the lash line as a guide), this line should be the same width as your brush or about 5 millimetres.

Step 3:

Take your liquid eyeliner and line your eyes on top of the shadow but in a thin line just accentuating your eyes, do the same underneath. Immediately take a cotton bud and gently just follow the line to soften it up.

Step 4:

Apply your highlighter just under the brow bone

Step 5:

To make the look more dramatic and to take it from day into night line the inside of your eyes with your black eyeliner.

Step 6:

Apply mascara to only the top lashes.

Finish the look off with bronzed cheeks and a nude glossy lipstick to keep the emphasis on your eyes.
