In a #TopBilling exclusive, Sophie Ndaba and businessman Max Lichaba escape to Mpumalanga and open up on the heart-warming story of their love!
It’s a celebration of the best of the good life which is what Sophie Ndaba and Max Lichaba have found in each other and after secretly tying the knot in Italy, here they are now to share the story – in person.
Our rendezvous with Sophie and businessman Max was at Tintswalo Manor House in the Manyeleti Game Reserve. We were among the first guests of the five, newly revamped suites. While they can sleep up to ten guests here, we had the luxury of the entire place, with a chef and ranger, all to ourselves.
Unlike the couple’s hometown in Jozi, this reserve has one of the lowest vehicle densities in the greater Kruger area – making your chances of a sighting animals, so much better.
Max is a personality in his own right. He owns a famous chesa nyama in Soweto, a business customizing cars and an export jewellery brand. The man is one cool cat. He grew up in the small town of Saaiplaas, helping his late mother, Palesa, sell fruit and veg. She was his role model and, in Sophie he’s found a woman of similar strength. Max would only have won the heart of the new Mrs. Lichaba if he shared her desire to care for others. She grew up in an orphanage and her “Sophie Foundation of Hope” raises funds for orphans. The generous spirit is well known and the staff here at the Manor House showed their appreciation for all Sophie does by laying on something extraordinary.
Being the focus of attention is part of her acting work but in her up coming tv series, Sophie uses her profile to help others. That said, fans can’t ever get enough of her. Her mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive, and to do so with passion, compassion, humour, and most importantly with style. She seems to have ticked every box.
There are fans of Sophie’s, across Africa, who will be rooting for her and Max to have the best of marriages and we add our voices to theirs.
