Swapping their green and gold jerseys for aprons some of the biggest legends in South African rugby have shared some of their most loved recipes in a newly launched cookbook, Springbok Kitchen. The book shares not only great recipes but also takes you into the homes of some of these rugby greats showing the connection that food, friends and family have in our country.
The book is filled with beautiful photographs showing intimate moments with friends and family which leave you feeling that you were invited to lunch an know more about your favourite boys in green and gold.
Royalties from the sale of the book will go to the Chris Burger Petro Jackson Players' Fund, which has two core objectives: to assist the unfortunate victims of catastrophic or serious rugby injuries; and to develop and implement initiatives that aim to educate, inform and create awareness around rugby injuries.
Top Billing was invited to attend the launch of 'Springbok Kitchen' during which, Bakkies Botha, Victor Matfield, Morne Steyn and coach Pieter de Villiers whipped up their dishes from the book.
