Music legend Johnny Clegg was fortunate to have his son Jaron as a director for his new music video.
As far as creativity and drive goes, the apple fell pretty close to the tree in the Clegg household. When Johnny needed a hot stuff Hollywood director for his new music video, it is extremely fortunate that he has one in the family – his son, Jaron.
‘Take My Heart Away’ is one of the 17 legendary tracks remixed for the latest album by this ground-breaking recording artist. The story playing out in the video was written as a short film by Jaron, a Vancouver Film School graduate. Whilst remixing the track, his dad remembered Jaron’s script and the fire was lit.
Jaron began creating stories in his room, at the age of 8, listening to movie soundtracks playing out scenarios with model armies. That led to experiments with stop-animation and story-telling through film. Jaron’s father has been telling stories not only for his sons but for this country and fans the world over from his first track 40 years ago to his new audiences today.
