On 9 January 2013, the London Underground celebrated 150 years since the first underground journey took place between Paddington and Farringdon on the Metropolitan Railway. Join Top Billing presenter, Bonang Matheba, as she retraces the steps of Tube's history and even has a go at driving a train simulator.
As part of the celebrations the London Transport Museum will be holding an exhibition, Poster Art 150 – London Underground’s Greatest Designs. The exhibition will run from 15 February to 27 October 2013.
More about the exhibition: Since its first graphic poster commission in 1908, London Underground has developed a worldwide reputation for commissioning outstanding poster designs, becoming a pioneering patron of poster art - a legacy that continues today.
In this anniversary year, the major exhibition, Poster Art 150, displays the 150 greatest posters ever produced for the Underground.
Visitors will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite poster in the gallery and also online in The Siemens Poster Vote. The most popular poster will be revealed at the end of the exhibition.
