Wanting to build your own home? Fancy a plan to help your new house pay its own way? Discover how husband and wife team Jonathan and Jane Stone did it.





The architect duo Jonathan and Jane Stone have run their practice together for thirty years. They have chosen to dedicate their careers to restoring old buildings and creating new heritage.



Having an artistic understanding of how light and depth work in a painting came in very handy with being an architect.




To finance their home, they built three dwellings on the property and rented two out for a few years. Later they turned one into the library and the other one into the office.




With the same approach they have been tackling to furnish the house. Much of the furniture was found on auctions, repaired or made over. 



Jonathan’s artistic energy and output is boundless. A counter-balance to architecture and all the time it takes from vision to final product.
