Top Billing catches up with artist and producer Stoan Seate
Artist and music producer Stoan Seate shows us his other passion besides music.
He broke down the door for SeTswana rap with six hit-laden Bongo Maffin albums; he’s played the big venues from Central Park, New York to the Colosseum in Rome but it’s the little people who are closest to his heart. Music isn't Stoan's only passion. His 4020Phenomenon charity now runs Ikgate Mothlahla, a cycling campaign that aims to raise funds and provide essential services to help disadvantaged children in the North West province.
To celebrate his 40th birthday and raise awareness and funds, he and a group of his cyclist friends took on a gruelling 340km bike challenge from Ventersdorp to Wolmaransstad in the North West province. Thanks to weeks of rigorous training and prep, they managed to complete their journey in just five days. It's been two decades since Stoan and producer Oskido teamed up and they're still turning out the hits. Stoan's eldest daughter, 15 year old Ayana , and his youngest, Imani, who's 7, both love music just like their dad. 9 year old Zahara, however, is most comfy in the kitchen where she and Stoan like to bake.
