What sets the Caribbean model Mala Bryan apart from the rest, is that she’s created a unique range of children’s dolls which have become her all consuming passion and a market sensation.
Born on the island of St. Lucia, today Mala’s career sees her following the modelling seasons, living between Miami and Cape Town. Mala has done runway work and shoots for Sports Illustrated, but she came to a point where she wanted to be her natural self.
Mala’s been a doll collector since childhood, but finding black dolls with natural hair proved elusive. So, she decided to create her own and headed for China to find a manufacturer. Her self determination characterizes her dolls, featuring less make-up and a more natural 'look'. Raine Tauber, Mala’s make-up artist of 8 years applauds her stand.
