Top Billing features Miss SA Demi-Leigh Nel Peters Miss SA Demi-Leigh Nel Peters invites us to her parents home to share her journey.
You'd never have known it, but the week before the crown was placed on her head, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters had suffered a bad case of bronchitis, but nothing was going to stop this determined young woman from going after anything once she put her mind to it.
That hard work ethic is something Demi-Leigh says she gets from her proud dad, Bennie Peters, who's recently fulfilled his own dream – of owning a luxury guest house on the Mooi Rivier marshland in Potchefstroom.
She's been making him beam since her high school days when she was chosen as junior mayor of George City Council and was the first to be both the head girl of her school as well as it's hostel.
At just 21 years old, Demi-Leigh was the youngest entrant in this year's Miss South Africa pageant but impressed the judges with a determination and drive.
Moving forward Demi looks to putting her degree to good use and says she's inspired by woman in business like Yahoo's CEO Marissa Mayer.
