Actor Vuyo Dabula talks fatherhood, cross-training, and rocking the wild bow-ties of entrepreneur Emmanuel Mohlala.
Actor Vuyo Dabula was born in 1976 while entrepreneur Emmanuel Mohlala was born into a South Africa brought about by the events of June, ‘76. Between them, they have some inspiring insights into what it all means in 2016. Today Vuyo is known as Gadaffi on the soapie Generations. Or at his gym – the guy who just loves working out.
He was in the cast of the seminal drama Yizo-Yizo, he’s been on Isidingo and come far from where he grew up in a small village in Mafikeng. Whilst modelling Vuyo enrolled in film school where he did a movie called Soldiers of the Rock. When he approached a top agent to represent him, she’d seen the movie, knew who he was and signed him straight away.
Another mover, in fashion, is entrepreneur Emanuel Mohlala who got Vuyo to return to modelling for a shoot involving the bow tie brand everyone’s talking about. Emmanuel’s celebrity clients include Orlando Pirates captain Oupa Manyisa, Maps Maponyane and now Vuyo.
