Top Billing features a modern masterpiece of a home at Steyn City
Our epic Top Billing featured home this Saturday has hand blown glass chandeliers, a modern meets organic kitchen and a putting green on the roof!
This spectacular home keeps things close to home and in the family. The interiors are by owner and designer Michelle Henderson and the architecture by brother and sister duo Suzette Hammer and Johan Breytenbach.
When building on the largest parkland development in South Africa, you want your own home to be - distinctive. But before Michelle could think about style, she spent six months piling down and laying a raft foundation on this very wet ground. Only then could Suzette’s architecture take shape.
Since the owners will raise a family here, that determined Yakup Zaifognu’s kitchen design.
In the living areas, Suzette’s architecture and Michelle’s interior design blend seamlessly. As the face of Michelle’s business Zhoosh Interior Creation, the house offers interesting variations on the main decor theme.
A central fireplace allows a natural way to create two rooms in one space and the sports themed bar is understated and cool. Rugby and cricket talk can continue at the fire pit and if the lady of the house tires of it, the first floor is a perfect sanctuary.
The house has a relaxed luxury about it and with this as the star in her portfolio it’s little wonder that homeowner Michelle is such a success in interiors.
