Lorraine Loots paints her way to global success with art, which demands a closer look.
In 2013, Cape Town artist Lorraine Loots committed herself to creating a miniature watercolour, once a day, every day, for a year. She stuck to her word and after two years, her paintings were being sold all over the world.
At home or traveling, Lorraine paints wherever she goes. Her next two collections sold out online before she could even host an exhibition!
Lorraine’s husband, Mark De Menezes, began managing the business side two years ago and now runs a second business, helping other artists with logistics and admin.
Lorraine opts to channel her perfectionism through her art, so she can let go and live messier in other areas of her life. She believes that the inspiration to create will start flowing once you get to work and advises other artists to stop waiting for perfection and just get your work out there!
