Growing up between Soweto and Sandton, 29 year old Nthato Mokgata has a masters in film, a multi Loerie Award-winning advertising career and he’s an international recording artist whose musical style ‘Township Tech’ is now the subject of his debut feature film.
Lorna has a surprise in store for the talented and highly acclaimed local musician Nthato Mokgata, but first she needs to know where his stage name Spoek Mathambo comes from. Traveling abroad for live gigs, Spoek has seen many speed machines on the streets of Europe, the U.S., South America and the U.K. but the one he hadn’t yet clocked is this McLaren P1 Hypercar which together with a full McLaren team has been brought out for The Rogue Rally by Justin Divaris. Spoek goes for a ride in this dream machine and even though he doesn't get to go its full speed of 349 km/h, he still has the ride of his life before taking Lorna to meet his family, who are beaming with pride over Nthato's successful music career.
