Top Billing goes behind the scenes of Nomuzi Mabenas music video
Straight outta Benoni, Nomuzi Mabena was always going to write her own story. From model to presenter, she’s now opened a record company, released a new album ‘Versus’ and next, we join her on the set of her latest video
Nomuzi came to South Africa’s attention as a finalist in the SABC1 Live Presenter Search and winner of the MTV Base VJ Search. From hosting music shows, her career has done a full 180 and today she is a self-financed recording artist with a clear, creative vision of her own.
Directing the video is SAMA nominated Alessio Bettocchi. Born in Peru, this international, multi-lingual film-maker knows a woman with star quality when he meets one.
This is one of four videos which Moozlie aims to shoot for her debut mixtape. Working for an artist who knows what they want is a pleasure for director of photography Kyle White.
The anchor in Nomuzi’s professional and personal life is artistic manager Sbusiso Motloung.
