Top Billing meets The Illusionists
The Illusionists, stunned New York City and has South African audiences battling to believe what they’ve just witnessed.
If there’s a place for adults to forget all logical concerns about interest rates and the petrol price - this show is it. Each act of levitation, disappearance or danger puts you more in touch with your child-like sense of awe, which is precisely what they intended.
Among them is Ben Blaque, The Weapon Master – who made his name on America’s Got Talent and bases his performance around one of history’s most devastating weapons.
While Ben’s daring throws you back in your chair, Darcy Oakes, The Grand Illusionist, draws you in with sleight of hand. The wonderfully frustrating thing about his performance is that he’s doing it live, in front of you and it’s still impossible to figure out how he does it.
Mark Kalin is renowned as The Showman. He began with close-hand magic but when he met Jinger Leigh, The Conjuress – they expanded into grand acts of illusion – once making a 747 Jumbo jet disappear before an audience’s eyes. Awarded Magicians of the Year, the highest honour in magic, their show is pure theatre.
After sold out shows in Cape Town, you and your family can catch these artists of the impossible at Montecasino’s Teatro from now until Sunday, the 11th March.
