If there’s one art form that’s had a huge influence on fashion, even since the eighties, it’s Hip Hop - a culture as much as a style of music. It has an unrivalled ability to reinvent itself - as it has in the work of four time SA Hip Hop Award winning artist Gigi Lamayne.
The child of a nurse and single mum, Gigi rewarded her mom’s faith in her when the single ‘Ice-Cream’ charted on radio stations across the country. Gigi came top of her Media Studies class at WITS and graduated with a BA degree in Media and Anthropology, amongst other accolades.
