Top Billing showcases a spectacular penthouse by John Jacob
Top Billing showcases interior designer John Jacob’s latest project
Our Top Billing featured home this week is a John Jacob masterpiece of a penthouse at De Oude Schuur!
John is a double SA Style Awards winner and his work features in American Vogue and UK House and Garden.
With this project, John was presented with a set of offices in this 19th century building, in a space with a real New York feel. He envisaged a luxurious, modern penthouse.
To help clients imagine what John sees clearly in his head, he makes use of extensive 3D modelling. A virtual vision is what he showed them before implementing the drawings on site and now he’s built it in reality.
Subtle touches include bagged brickwork walls left un-plastered for texture and accentuated by ingenious lighting design. John’s reimagined 17th century estates, game-lodges and the evolution continues.
From here he’s now creating olive oil tasting cellars and restoring two historic homes.
