Upside Down with John and Itumeleng Baloyi
Since an inverted house is all to do with perspective, we asked husband and wife creative team John an Itumeleng Baloyi to join us on the day.

With his wife as his muse and business partner, John made his name as a photographic artist - first on social media and then shooting and directing big commercial campaigns.
Wanting his work to exist outside of the internet and rather in people’s homes as art – John is focusing on the portrayal of people of colour in a way that they can relate to.

In a competitive, overwhelmingly digital industry, this artist prospers despite having to develop his film at a lab and not being represented by a photographic agency.
John credits Itumeleng for his success. When he quit his day job to focus on art and their finances got turned upside down – she kept him going. So, they could relate to someone whose own creative statement was to build this upside-down house near Hartebeespoort.
