Our vision for the Greenhouse this year is to share this country's rich diversity of flavours, ingredients and cooking styles with our guests.
South Africa has some of the most unique flora and fauna on earth, ingredients which are mostly unattainable to those outside its borders... from Big Numnums to Baobab and Hartebeest to Kabeljou, we have a lot to offer the culinary world.
While northern hemisphere restaurants send teams of foragers up towards the Arctic Circle and beyond, we are exploring our own southern expanses in search of forgotten ingredients used by the ancient tribes of Africa and unique flavours unknown to Westerners.
While the uniqueness of The Greenhouse food and our dining experience is the major driving force behind the success of the restaurant, what resonates loudest throughout it's philosophy is the desire to preserve and nurture our beloved Africa... the Sustainable Seafood Tasting Menu epitomises our devotion to the former, while the latter is evident in the effort The Greenhouse places on grassroots training and the empowerment of all South Africans.
Our vision is for our guests experience South Africa, our land of contrasting tastes and textures which we have translated through our food and wine at The Greenhouse.
The Greenhouse is open for dinner, Tuesdays to Saturdays.
