Apple Fritters


This contains both milk and beer giving it a slightly yeasty flavor with a good coating. Great for all fruits.

1 1/2 cup flour
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp baking powder
dash of salt
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup beer



Method:


Measure the dry ingredients into a mixing bowl. Stir with a whisk. Add in the wet ingredients and whisk until smooth. (I add a 1/2tsp of cinnamon into to the batter mix at this point).

Core a large cooking apple and cut into rings and then dip in batter and fry in hot oil (190-200) in a preheated deep fat fryer.

When golden brown remove from oil and put on kitchen paper for a few seconds before dusting with powdered sugar if desired and serve.
