Salamina Mosese is a fun-loving, 25-year-old Gemini who has been acting and presenting on television for 11 years, since the age of 15. Her debut was on the children’s drama series Soul Buddyz. She then went on to present the youth variety show Craze for eight years. Leaving the ‘kids TV presenter’ label behind, she joined the cast of the local soapie Backstage until it ended.
Salamina has also acted in Justice for All (SABC 2), Bubom’sana (SABC 1), Soul City (SABC 1) and Home Affairs (SABC 1), as well as the international film Beat the Drum.
She has presented shows such as Craze Games (SABC 2), Top Class (SABC 1), Whiz Quiz (SABC 2) and Hosanna (SABC), and has appeared in advertising campaigns for Lotto, Comporal and McDonalds. She is currently the face of Sadie – a roll-on brand that was purchased by L’Oreal in 2007.
Between all of this, the dedicated student graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Corporate Communication from the University of Johannesburg, majoring in Corporate Communication and Sociology. As well as being Top Billing’s latest bubbly presenter, Salamina has joined the RPM events and decor company as its marketing and business-development manager. As a finalist of the Top Billing Presenter Search, she always knew that she would eventually end up on the show. ‘You can imagine what a pleasant surprise it was when I received a call from one of the show’s producers to come in for a chat that resulted in a signed contract,’ she explains of her dream come true, which saw her start presenting the show in November 2008. ‘It has been challenging, daunting, exciting and a great learning experience!’ Her love of traveling has made the international movie junkets she has journeyed to a blast. They have introduced her to Ben Stiller, Cameron Diaz and Emily Blunt. ‘I have always wanted to rub shoulders with the who's who of the movie business, especially because I am an actress as well. I admire the work ethic that these big stars have, and I hope to one day be at the same level in my own career,’ she says. Salamina loves food, travel, decor and meeting interesting people, and her Top Billing job provides all of these in a day's work. ‘I have eaten some of the nicest food I had ever tasted in my life since I started on the show,’ she says passionately. ‘I have presented about five chef profiles, so obviously I get to sample their delectable food. I am not complaining at all!’ This budding young actress hopes to grow with the show and establish herself as a recognisable face on television and in the media environment as a whole. ‘I can't wait until designers are practically throwing their gowns at me to wear,’ she chuckles. ‘It is all so glamorous and fabulous!’ www.fullcirclemodel.com
