2015 Diners Club Winemaker of The Year Awards
Being raised in Northern Namibia, winemaking wasn’t an obvious career choice for Anne van Heerden. She’s pushed that aside though and earned herself a finalist spot in the 2015 Diners Club Young Winemaker of The Year Awards. A vote of confidence in the quality of your work doesn’t come better than that.
This week we spend some time with Anne at the vineyard, where we find out about her journey as a female winemaker in a mostly male dominated industry. We also find out what how she adds a feminine touch to her wines, uncovering her unique style of winemaking.
We then head to the event to meet and interview key role players and winemakers that have made an impression in 2015, along with a few wine-loving celebrity guests sharing in the experience. What makes this wine award unique is that it celebrates the winemaker instead of the wine, and together with Diners Club it brings an opportunity to honour hard work and talent.
