Cherry slushies
Serves 4
¾ cup water ⅓ cup castor sugar 2T lemon or lime juice 500g pitted cherries (fresh or frozen)
Combine water, sugar and lemon juice and heat until the sugar is dissolved. Blend the syrup with the cherries until smooth. Freeze until almost frozen. Break the mixture up and blend until smooth again. Pour into plastic or glass bottles and freeze until solid. The slushies will be soft by the time you arrive at your picnic destination.
TOP TIP Use any fruit in place of the cherries.
