Easy entertaining canapé recipes

Beef Tartare
serves 4

200g Fillet steak, finely chopped
1 shallots
1 tablespoon capers
1 green chilli
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon olive oil
Sunflower shoots (or microgreens)
Edible flowers
chives, finely chopped
Freshly ground black pepper

Finely chop the shallot, chilli and capers. Add to the chopped fillet steak. Mix the dijon mustard, egg yolk, olive oil together with fillet steak mix and black pepper. Garnish with sunflower shoots, edible flowers and chives. Serve with toasted pita bread triangles.

Smoked Trout and Avo
serves 6

200g Hot smoked trout
1 avocado, blended with lemon juice
1/2 grapefruit, segments
1 baby fennel, sliced
6 mini pita breads

Top the pita breads with avo puree. Place one piece of smoked trout on top of the avo, followed by a grapefruit segment and slice of fennel


Vegetable Tempura


Assorted vegetables, sliced
Woolworths Tempura flour
Sparkling water
Vegetable oil for frying
200g Hummus

Make the tempura batter according to the packet's instructions. Dip the vegetables in the batter and fry until golden. Spoon hummus onto a large serving platter and top with tempura vegetables. Serve immediately.
