Top Billing’s leading men have a good record in being voted sexiest in the land, and this year we had not one but two candidates up for the top title!

Gathering for the pool party finale in Sandton, the class of 2019 received more public votes than any of the previous twenty one years of the competition. 

The field included a mixed martial arts athlete, two doctors, an engineer, a Commonwealth Games gold medallist and actor Zweli Dube.

The consensus on what makes a man sexy seems to be aesthetic, but all 12 nominees are attractive in their respective personalities and for their impressive achievements in their chosen fields.

The setting of a pizza and pool party already made this a far more fun theme, and according to COSMO fashion editor Cleopatra Marcopoulus that carried over to this year's calendar. The images are all sizzling but they are also theatric and slightly comedic. To add to this, comedian Yaseen Barnes appears as a photo bomber in every picture, and MC'd at the pool party.

With an all-time record number of readers having voted for their favourites, the rooftop party on the evening of the finale was a chance to celebrate the sexy men, and we were on hand to see the impressive swimwear parade by the contestants.

In the final reckoning, some say it was his brains and charm, others that it’s the body and smile that good genes gifted him with, either way - Fez was voted Cosmo Sexiest Man for 2019!

 
Add to the mix that the Doc also plans to release a novel before he’s thirty. He’ll be a tough act to follow for next year’s nominees!
