Miss SA Zozibini Tunzi gives Top Billing her top decor advice!
Following our exclusive tour of Zozibini Tunzi's stunning new apartment we caught up with the new Miss SA to hear how she's settled in.
What has been the highlight of your Miss SA experience so far?
My homecoming without a doubt. Seeing my people and the joy I’ve been experiencing reflected in their faces truly made this all seem real. It also reminded me of how important it is for me to represent those who raised me and made me the woman I am today.
You’ve moved in to a beautiful new apartment, how have you made the space your own? To be quite honest I haven’t had a moment to really sit and enjoy this incredible space yet but I look forward to unwinding with a good book on the beautiful balcony someday soon. The moment I walked into the apartment it felt like home.
How would you describe your own personal style when it comes to interior design?
Well, it’s actually quite funny because the moment I stepped foot into the apartment it felt like they had gotten my own aesthetic down to the T. The thing that made it awkward was that we saw it for the first time while we were still the Top 16 so of course I knew that that was not the case, but perhaps a great sign of things to come.
What was that “can’t live without” item you brought with you in the move?
I have a very worn out and well-loved blanket that I take with me wherever I go, it has made the move with me, and no, you cannot see it.
Are there any interior design hacks that you swear by?
Make sure not to over clutter anything, let the space breathe and make sure that you feel comfortable and relaxed in the space. Always make it personal with family photographs and things that have sentimental value to you.
What’s your go-to recipe/ meal when hosting friends for a dinner party in your beautiful new home? You can never go wrong with a warm and hearty homemade lasagna!
