One success story that has played out on airwaves across the nation is that of Metro FM’s DJ Sphectacula. A tale that’s inseparable from that of his Kings of The Weekend partner, DJ Naves.
For five years they’ve been co-hosts of Saturday evenings’ The Pre-party on METROFM and for young Sphe Ngwenya, growing up in the South of Durban in the 90's, music was always his thing.
This week though, we're taking these city boys to the wilderness – to the world's highest gorge to be exact. With it's signature five star approach to wilderness, The Gorge Private Game Lodge and Spa is perched right on the edge of The Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve, with a breathtaking five kilometre wide canyon rising from the Umzimkulu River. While some needed a bit of a friendly nudge, they'll agree that this gorge is a place where dreams come true – especially dreams of flying.
Surrounded by incredible views, we chat to the DJs about their début album, and what it's taken for them to get to where they are now. The ultimate self-made men, they’ve found the ideal creative and business partners in one another.
