Fabric runs in interior designer Tessa Sonik’s DNA. She grew up witnessing her parents’ careers in the clothing industry and quickly realized the value of textiles.
Her company, Tessa Sonik Fabrics has become synonymous with directional, contemporary fabrics of the finest quality. The collections have been instrumental not only in introducing international trends into the South African markets, but in setting them as well.

Tessa’s UP collection uses existing fabrics that have been up-cycled, reused, over-dyed and reworked. Items are one-of-a-kind in a reproduced world of sameness, and offer fabric artworks that celebrate the reinvigoration of old materials.
UP illustrates Tessa’s move into the heartfelt artisanal space. It’s about giving back, it’s about sustainability and conscience, and it’s about celebrating the flaws synonymous with the human experience.
