Top Billing attends the tropical wedding of Lebo Gunguluza and Lebohang Mokoena
For a couple who met over New Year, in the midst of summer holidays, an Indian Ocean island wedding was a perfect fit for Lebo Gunguluza and Lebohang Mokoena. With a connection to PE they knew it would need to be a beach wedding, and on a visit to Mauritius they found their dream location.
The exceptional wedding was fitting for the exceptional couple. At twenty six, Lebohang is one of Africa’s youngest black female publishers.
As for the groom, he first saw Lebohang seven years ago, he may well have had a vision of his future that looked very similar to this. After matric, Lebo left Port Elizabeth to study in Durban, with sixty Rand in his pocket and a resolve to be successful. It took faith to believe that he would find true love as well.
The couple are also celebrating a traditional wedding in PE later this year, but for this occassion they chose the beautiful Lux Grande Gaube resort. The resort is incredibly spacious and is a relaxed romantic setting for the special day. For the staff at this exclusive venue, nothing was too much trouble for the couple's big day!
The bride wore two dresses, and her beautiful ceremony dress had a lacy bodice and lots of diamante and volume.
SA designer Matome Seshoka has styled the bride for the past two years and together they chose an off the shoulder fitted gown and three metre train - for maximum drama.The other dress was a beautiful surprise for the guests!
The groom wore two suits as well, one for the ceremony, a cream tuxedo, and a gold and black tuxedo for the evening.
Their island theme blended white and gold with a hint of pastels. Ladies were requested to dress in white, gentleman in black, all orchestrated by wedding co-ordinator, Precious Thamaga.
According to Precious, the island is the perfect back drop and she went for a very romantic and lush but simple decor, without using the expected wedding flowers.
If their marriage will be like their wedding, they certainly have a fairytale to look forward to!
