Top Billing attends the lighting ceremony of the Moët & Chandon Golden Tree
With the festive season upon us there is no shortage of Christmas trees and decorations popping up all over the country. However none of them are more spectacular than the Moët & Chandon Golden Tree that is made of 1800 recycled champagne bottles.
Table Mountain’s iconic silhouette frames the tree, which can be found in the V&A Waterfront’s Silo District and was lit with an awe-inspiring tree lighting ceremony performed by local celeb Boity Thulo, while a suave Maps Maponyane MC’d the evening.
This opening of the festive season was led by a toast from Pascal Asin, Moët Hennessy Regional President Africa and Middle East, who says African consumers want experiences and to discover things, something Moët & Chandon has been a part of for 250 years.
Heralded by the S.A. Youth Choir, a beautiful performance by the Cape Town City ballet and counted down with a giant projected clock, the four-storey Moët & Chandon Golden Tree tree came to life with two hundred and thirty metres of LED lights, twinkling in sync with the music.
The Mother City is officially ready for the festive season!
