Having come to South Africa to deliver a motorcycle, German motoring journalist Dieter Losskarn fell for the country and settled in Hout Bay. He writes travel guides to Southern Africa for the German speaking market which has proved to be really sucessful.
Dieter’s travels have taken him as far as the Arctic Circle on a Harley with a sidecar and his house is testament to his passion for vehicles. To Dieter, old grills from motorcars and rusty enamel advertising boards or tin signs are his idea of gold.
His passion for these pieces saw Dieter create a group on Facebook called ‘Rustworthy SA’ which has become a fellowship of three thousand members worldwide who find as much fun as he does in constantly searching for these collectables.
