Top Billing features the wedding of actress Rolanda Maris
Actress, Rolanda Marais, who is currently starring in, Vlug na Egipte (Flight to Egypt), quietly got engaged to TV and film director, Jozua Malherbe in the December holiday.
Rolanda has taken part in several stage performances and she has numerous TV credits behind her name. Jozua Malherbe his start in the industry during his third year of Producing when he produced a documentary with Peter Faiman (Crocodile Dundee) for Australian television, and in 2005 he worked with Sharlto Copley (District 9).
Rolanda and Jozua met on the set of the film ‘'Wolwedans in die Skemer’. Jozua was the director and Rolanda the leading lady. After the work was done on set, Jozua asked her if she would like to join him on a road trip down to Cape Town and that’s how their story began.
They still love road tripping together which is why Jozua proposed on top of a koppie in the Karoo at sunset. How romantic! Their wedding planning philosophy was keeping it simple and being hands on. In fact, they planned their wedding on their own with a focus on having fun, family and friends together, celebrating their love without all the bells and whistles.
